The server time on the platform is either GMT + 2 or GMT + 3 depending on Daylight savings. This ensures the daily candles can follow the NY close times.
Open your platform and select File – Open Data Folder – MQL4 – Experts and then paste the .ex4 file. When you close and reopen the platform your EA should then show in the Navigator window under ‘Expert Advisors’.
Ensure ‘AutoTrading’ is enabled on your top toolbar. Drag the EA over from the Navigator Window to your chart, and under the ‘Common’ tab make sure ‘Allow Live Trading’ is checked. If your EA is successfully attached you will see a smiley face icon in the top right corner of your chart.
Select Tools – Options – Server tab and then select the ‘Change’ option next to the password.
Hover your mouse over the account number in the Navigator window, and it will show your balance and leverage.
Select the ‘Account History’ tab and then right click and select ‘Custom Period’. Enter the dates you want the statement for and then select ‘OK’. Then right click again and select ‘Save As Report’. Your statement will then open as an HTML file.
Select Tools – History Centre and then select the instrument you want the data for. Then select the time frame and select Download. This will then download any available data to your chart. Please note, the data will not go as far back in time for the smaller time frames as it will for the higher time frames. Also note that all additional data comes from the MQ database, and we are not able to provide any further data.
First find your Metaquotes ID number from your mobile app (you will see it under Settings – Chat and Messages). Open your trading platform and select Tools – Options – Notifications and tick the ‘Enable Push Notification’ box. Then enter your MQID. We base our swap rates on our own overnight funding costs available at our liquidity providers.
Right click in the Market Watch window on the symbol you wish to know the rates for, and select ‘Specifications’. You will then see the long and short swap rates if you scroll down. Note, the rates for Forex are displayed in points.
Positions that are held open over Wednesday night will incur a triple swap charge. This is to account for the settlement of trades over the weekend, where no swap rates are charged since the market is closed.
Swap is charged at 00:00 for any trades that are still open from the previous day.
Swap is calculated as: (pip value for 1 lot x No of lots x swap rate x number of nights)/ 10. Please note the answer will be in the quote (second) currency of the pair you are trading.
